Dead Gods Rising

The group assembles at the launch base, all will be part of the landing party that will establish one of the cities on Xerxes 7. Some are doctors, others are scientist and engineers, but most are soldiers, recruited from other organizations or volunteers who have undergone basic training. At the station they say good bye to their families and friends, in some cases, and in all to their former lives, for they know there is no return. By the time they even arrive at Xerxes 7 millenia will have passed on Earth.

Before boarding shuttles a small lecture is given detailing what is known of Xerxes 7, further details about procedures while on board the ships, and what to expect upon arrival. They are told that most of the expedition will be kept in hibernation, with an active group on one ship directing the rest. The active group will be rotated so that all members will serve watch at some point, but the net physical gain in years will be only a few for each individual.

After many long boring hours the expedition is ferried up to the waiting ships, assigned quarters, briefed on the effects of hibernation, and then helped into pods by doctors to begin their long sleep.

A day at the aquarium

The group has been exploring the fallen city of Dakur, scrounging resources, and encountering strange creatures.

After finding the aquarium the wanted to use it for food and bio-fuel production. Inside they encounter a strange amphibious creature resembling a giant slug with tentacles that has been mentally controlling several humans. After dispatching it, they found a strange humanoid creature in a closet, which had had tentacles on its face in front of a beak like mouth, it was wearing a neural scrambler, until dispatched.

With the aquarium theirs, and several new citizens to care for the group quickly went about setting up a home base, and working to take advantage of the food it could provide.

Also they went about killing the sharks, octopi, and piranhas as well as releasing the tojanida into the river. The algae cultures were established in some of the tanks. Next day (Day 10) the group loaded up on Hummers and went to the park, Serrano almost got killed, and then they went back to the bunker to heal up and get stuff repaired. In the forest they fought a giant scorpion like creature, that used sonic vibrations to destroy Dyson’s gun and armor. They came across a grove with a dryad whom they helped defend her grove from a mutant elephant (which crited on Durgan and almost killed him in one tusk gore, doing 52 damage, and he just made is MDT save to avoid dying). They then fought off 3 reavers that also attacked. After they got back to the bunker they had a private discussion between the 5 PCs about leadership of the group and the future of where things are going and trying to improve things. The group talked about the dreams they’ve been having in general, that they’ve been getting contacted by outside forces and have gained some things from these dreams, but no one identified specifics of any kind.

Durgan discussed a lack of trust in some of the group members and that the group has been given the option of being good or evil and the group needs to focus on the harder, but good option (directing all of his attention to Dr. McGovern).

Episode 4
A Night at the Museum

The group went to the fallen city of Dakur for supplies, and entered the central bank where they encountered a strange worm like creature that kept several of cannibalistic infected humans tied up, and was supported by some small 4 armed aliens.

Later the group entered the Natural History Museum on a mission lead by Sgt Dyson, and encouraged by Dr. Givens, Dr. Petrova, prvt Durgan, and Dr. McGovern. They encountered several demons, including a gigantic bipedal goat-human hybrid, which decimated the party, slaying several service men (including Prvt Scarlet) and delivering what seemed to be a fatal wound to Dr. Petrova and nearly killing Sgt Dyson (though it did succeed in raping him). The weapons of all seemed to do barely any damage to the beast, except for Dr. Given.

Once the foul beasts were dispatched:
Prvt Durgan and Prvt Ashford (Mark) showed up to the museum carrying the requested fire extinguishers. At this point Prvt Godson, Prvt Moss, and Dr. McGovern, took Dr. Petrova’s unconscious body back to the bank, while went to check out the Xerxes Fauna room, encountered some black gargoyle creatures, then encountered some green gargoyle creatures. Prvt. Durgan at this point said there was a man in the building summoning them into the museum and he needed to be stopped from bringing any more and so they pressed forward (even after having some fun encounters with Charm), found the room in the Ancient Terran Exhibit where a man was chained to a sarcophagus next to a burning pentagram. In the room they saw 2 red gargoyle creatures, 2 blues ones, 1 black, 1 white, and 1 green. The group there (including you Dr. Givens) decided that the glass globes that the gargoyle creatures were carrying must provide them with some protection from Charm (and they managed to save a couple from shattering) recklessly broke them open and chugged them to see what happened. Prvt. Ashford became hyperactive, Sgt. Dyson is now emitting shadowy darkness in a 20’ radius that even the blackout goggles are not penetrating properly, Prv.t Serrano is feeling pretty good and healthy, and Dr. Givens is feeling a sense of calm, which will quickly wash away. The group is preparing to storm the room, kill the demons, and Prvt. Durgan wants to try and save the man summoning the demons.

Tune in 8-12-12 to see the thrilling conclusion. Who will live, who will be charmed, who will run away like a scared little girl because they don’t have full hit points.

After having Private Durgan and Serrano spending most of combat chasing their companions around the group was victorious in destroying the demons in the museum (maybe). They recovered several more pairs of bracers and were able to identify several of the potions. They then limped back to the base to heal and rest.

Last session they finished off the museum. They found a room with 7 abishai of various colors with 5 sacrifices and a human summoner who were attempting to gate in another demon more powerful than the ram one that you first encountered. They were fighting them and ran into some issues (to start Taylor broke off attacking the abishai not involved in the ritual and attacked at the image of the demon being summoned, and was then promptly charmed, as were all the other soldiers except for Chris who spent a couple rounds running away from them. McGovern snuck up on the caster, pretended to be joining him and then started killing him, completely disrupting the casting, only problem is once he was dead and the demons didn’t have someone that could complete the ritual they snapped the necks of all the sacrifices and the group went form fighting 2-3 abishai to 7. They managed to win the day by the skin of their teeth due to Given’s holy attacks breaking some charms and utilizing a necklace of fireballs by igniting all the fireballs at once into a fire ball of 96 damage. And that’s where things officially ended. Petrova hasn’t been healed yet, just stabilized, but will be healed up as soon as they officially come back from the museum.

Either of the doctors can provide Long Term Care (Treat Injury DC 15) to anyone (using up 1/10 of a med kit) to enhance the healing rate of the injured (Among NPCs Serrano, Moss, and Valerie). Petrova was stabilized, but I’m not sure if she got treat injury to be placed above -9 hit points (Alex can answer that). If she is still in the negatives than surgery is probably the better option and should be done by McGovern since it will take 1d4+9 hours and use 1/6 of a surgery kit (is a DC 20 treat injury, -4 if you don’t have Surgery Feat)

As a note remember that the potions are in sealed glass globes, which makes taking them in your case rather difficult.

Episode 5
Highway to hell

After returning from setting up the aquarium the group went about recovering and building up the fortification of the bunker. Dyson slowly got sick, but prepared to give a speech to the whole group talking about the new order, which would leave him as supreme commander during combat. Outside of combat, a council would vote and make decisions, made up of McGovern, Petrova, Givens, Durgan, and Dyson, with Dyson having tie-breaker status.

When Dyson prepared to give his speech, he began vomiting (literally) out a demon that attacked.

The group destroyed it and set Dyson up in quarantine. The group went to head back to the city, but on the way their convoy was attacked by rpgs, which turned out to be fired by strange humanoids with cephalopod heads (like the one they found at the aquarium). Ultimately they were victorious, but not before McGovern went down. Givens was able to stabilize him.

The group continued on to the aquarium to deliver supplies, after which Durgan went off to see his dryad friend, and Dr. Petrova slipped away.

The next day the group set out to try and get power to the city restore, stopping at a mall and scavenging supplies and encountering more alien life forms. Upon approaching where the power plant should be the gieger counter started going off, and they found only a crater where the power plant had been.

The day after this the group went to the Carnegie Science building looking for salvageable tech, of which they found several data files (including an encrypted one about a robot that had become self aware).

The the PCs have noticed two cars driving into the city (both have a large cross painted on their front, and contain humans), and that the base of the building has been surrounded by several dozen humanoids.

The group awakened the robot, found some geneticly spliced humans and brought them out of stasis, fought off a bunch of cannibal crazed humans, and found Petrova, who was missing her eyes (not gauged out) and had a small floating multi eyed thing with her.

The group, acting on dreams went to a local church where a lesser angel was about to sacrificed by demonic cult, and rescued it (it flew away and left them to deal with the demons)

Hitler Made German Dictator; N. Y. Jews Protest Oppression

Berlin, March 23, 1933
After the burning of the Reichstag less than a month ago the German Parliament today voted to pass the Enabling Act, providing Adolf Hitler, recently elected to Chancellor less than three months ago, dictatorial powers. Hitler has pledged that the power given to him will be used with restraint, and will be focused upon ending unemployment and promote peace with France, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union. Conflicting reports suggest that the distress the Parliament was responding to was caused by either German Jews or the Nazi party itself.
Only one man’s voice was raised against Adolph, that of Otto Wells, leader of the Social Democrats who stood up and spoke quietly to Hitler, “We German Social Democrats pledge ourselves solemnly in this historic hour to the principles of humanity and justice, of freedom and socialism. No enabling act can give you power to destroy ideas which are eternal and indestructible."
An enraged Hitler jumped up and responded, “You are no longer needed! – The star of Germany will rise and yours will sink! Your death knell has sounded!"
The vote was taken – 441 for, only 84, the Social Democrats, against…
